New Creation in Connie's kitchen

Moving means cleaning your refrigerator and cupboards of so many "food stuff". Doing that I've just created a delicious recipe that I would like to share with you. Hope you try it and let me know the results in your kitchen! We had it on brown bread, but feel free to try it with rice, couscous or mashed potatoes...

Lamb with Sundried Tomatoes by Connie Richter

Fry 10 medium sized whole garlics in plenty of olive oil. Add roughly sliced onions and fry until they are golden brown. Add 350gr of lamb, and fry well. Add 2 tablespoons of mixed herb spices, 1 stick of fresh rosemary (remove the spikes from the steam) and mix, frying the whole mixture further. When the lamb is well fried, add 1 large red pepper cut in large cubes and half cup of parsley. Add 1 small box of coconut milk and 1 cup of sundried tomatoes ( I did not soak mine). I did not add any salt because of the sundried tomatoes. Add 3 medium carrots thickly sliced, and cook until the lamb is tender, adding water when necessary.

Rescue Mission II

When I went downstairs at around 1015pm I heard a puppy crying, but cryyyyyyyyyinggggggggggg. Then I went outside and whistled, as they know me. He cried more and louder. I finally got closer to the spot he was crying, called my super King, and he came down. The same puppy we rescued the other day from the rain, the one which hurt his little leg, had fallen in a 1.5mt water tank. My King broke the lock of the house in front of the lake and there we went on rescue mission II. The water was not too deep, but he was soaking wet the poor little lolypop. Then I ran upstairs and got a chair. My King and 3 guys who stopped to help put the chair inside the tank, and my King went down to get him. He is safe now, next to his mom. We gave him milk, but he is paralised hahahaha so wet and traumatized... Such a hard life of a street dog....

Bomb blasts in Bangalore

Thank God we spent the day very quiet at home because we often go to the areas of the blasts! Thank you my God for the protection, and we pray the victims of these terrible acts recover soon. The best source I've found so far is Zee News (http://www.zeenews.com/articles.asp?aid=457863&sid=NAT). We are in the southern part of the city, very near Madiwala, Koramaganla, and Hosur Road is just up the road. Maybe we will just go from home straight to the airport next week hehe

SEVEN LOW INTENSITY BLASTS ROCK BANGALORE
Zeenews Bureau Bangalore, July 25: Terror hit Bangalore Friday afternoon as seven low intensity blasts ripped through different parts of the IT city. The explosions took place within a span of half an hour, starting at 1:45 pm. The sites that were targetted were Madiwala, Adugodi area, Koramangla, Hosur Road, Nayandahalli and Shivaji Nagar on Mysore Road and Langford Town. Helpline No: 080-40312706 All the sites are located in the southern part of the city, with some hosting several upmarket malls. These are fairly congested with Madiwala being one of the biggest markets of the city. The blast here took place at the bus stand. The strech from Brigade Road to the Hosur Road National Highway leading to Chennai bore the brunt in today's attack. Speaking to the media, Police Commissioner Shankar Bidri said that one woman was killed in Madiwala, while there have been injuries in the other blasts. All the wounded have been rushed to nearby hospitals for medical aid. Some have been admitted to St John’s and Mallya hospitals. Elaborating on the modus operandi, the Police Commissioner said that crude bombs with timer devices were used. Iron bolts had been fixed to them and each explosion had the intensity of 1-2 hand grenades. The blasts are thought to be of low-intensity using gelatin sticks. One blast took place near tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi’s house. However, barring shattering some window panes, there was no other major damage. Forensic experts and bomb disposal squads have reached the targetted sites. The authorities have cordoned off the entire locality and sniffer dogs are being used for further clues. Mobile networks in certain areas have jammed and major artery roads have clogged due people rushing back home. Bidri said that the incident looked pre-planned. He also appealed to Bangaloreans not to panic as the situation was fully under control now. The pattern and intensity of blasts indicate the explosions were meant to cause panic rather than claim casualties.

Moving out !

Today we have sent our 44 boxes to Addis Ababa. It was quick as my King had left everything super organized for the movers. He worked long hours in the past days, and I am so proud of such a strong and harworking King.
Please not the spelling for Alan written by one of the movers hehe pretty Aleam....

We had big helpers (including Hunter who had to be everywhere sniffing and checking the goods...)

We also had the little ones helping (to guard the boxes) hahahaha

Hunter got a little scared at the end... probably he thought he was going to be in one of the boxes :)

I call this picture: "3 heads"
And because I love Billy Joel....

Moving Out (Billy Joel)
Anthony works in the grocery store
Savin' his pennies for someday
Mama Leone left a note on the door,
She said,"Sonny, move out to the country.
"Workin' too hard can give me
A heart attack
You oughta know by now
Who needs a house out in Hackensack?
Is that what you get with your money?
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.
Sergeant O'Leary is walkin' the beat
At night he becomes a bartender
He works at Mister Cacciatore's down
On Sullivan Street
Across from the medical center
He's tradin' in his Checy for a Cadillac
You oughta know by now
And if he can't drive
With a broken back
At least he can polish the fenders
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.
You should never argue with a crazy mind
You oughta know by now
You can pay Uncle Sam with overtime
Is that all you get for your money?
It seems such a waste of time
If that's what it's all about
If that's movin' up then I'm movin' out.

Pra voce Vovo

Senhor, fazei-me instrumento de vossa paz.
Onde houver ódio, que eu leve o amor;
Onde houver ofensa, que eu leve o perdão;
Onde houver discórdia, que eu leve a união;
Onde houver dúvida, que eu leve a fé;
Onde houver erro, que eu leve a verdade;
Onde houver desespero, que eu leve a esperança;
Onde houver tristeza, que eu leve a alegria;
Onde houver trevas, que eu leve a luz.
Ó Mestre, Fazei que eu procure mais
Consolar, que ser consolado;
compreender, que ser compreendido;

Cao.

Things are going well :)

Dear Happy Richters fans, so sorry for the long break, but life has been quite busy for us at the moment. Things in India take 10 times longer to get done than anywhere else in the world. To get a medical certificate it took us only 4 hours, yes.... one piece of signed paper (ah... this after spending many other hours doing ECGs, Echos, blood tests, X-rays, etc etc). To get a quotation for our shipment 2 weeks, nobody goes to Ethiopia from here hahaha only us :) A part from our internet provider which is the worst ever seen, they are usually off 23/7.

But on a happier and less stressful note, we celebrated our 2 year Seychelles Wedding Anniversary with dear friends last Saturday and were blessed with 4 puppies living in our varanda. I'll tell you the story. A few months ago we thought our street dog called mom was pregnant, then she suddenly appeared not pregnant anymore, and we thought the puppies were born dead because she had just had another pregnancy. Two days ago, my King came home and told me he had seen the pupies - FOUR !!! I ran there and took a look at them. They are absolutely adorable. On the same night it rained very heavy and the water was high on their ditch. I called Marc and we went on a rescue mission with umbrellas and a box to bring the puppies home. They were all behing a car wheel, very wet, and mom was screaming trying to save her babies. We brought them all home, dried and fed them. Hunter was a gentleman, and did not complain, just gave them a suspicious look hehehe After a couple of hours, when they were all rested I made them a bed outside, but guess what? Mom didn't want to leave the house hahaha Marc had to drag her outside. I play a lot with them, and they are so happy here. Mom did a wonderful job rescuing her babies from the ditch, instinct and nature are very strong and amazing.

I took millions of pictures but I don't have time to download them now... sorry :) I'll try to do it later on today !

Packing starts today :)

Today I got all our boxes down, and bought packing strong tape. Packing process will start today hehehe I wouldn't show you any pictures of our house at the moment because it is a real KAO5. However, I have a few more pics from our trip to share with you:

Tio Paulinho, this one is for you. I loved this ad in a underground station.

We didn't meet interesting people this trip. Actually it upsets me that people travel and stay closed in their own world. Never mind, we are very good at making new happy friends !

Temple in Mersing

It was a wonderful trip, full of special moments, resting and fun. Now, very busy getting ready for Addis Ababa :)

And we're back !!

but not for too long hahaha We will be in Bangalore for 4 more weeks before we move to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. We are now busy packing and planning. I've always known God was preparing our future, and even though the news were very unexpected, we are very happy to accept the new challenges of a life in one of the poorest countries in the world. I am sure it will take us some time to adapt, but spiritually nothing better could have happened.

Our trip to Malaysia and Singapore was lovely and I'll be posting pictures very soon.

Hunter is well and fat, too fat that we had to put him on a diet so we don't have to pay too much excess luggage hahaha He is very excited to meet his new friends in Ethiopia but a little afraid of the rabies shots !!
